Mechanical design, manufacturing and automation--International Trade Class (机械设计制造及其自动化--国际贸易班)

作者:   已浏览:13次 更新日期:2024-12-24

This program is one of Ningbo University’s first nationally recognized featured disciplines. It has been designated as a Zhejiang Provincial Advantageous Major and a Ningbo Municipal Brand Major. The program benefits from robust resources, including the Zhejiang Provincial Electromechanical Engineering Training Center, Ningbo’s Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Technology, and Zhejiang Province’s Key Research Laboratory for Part Rolling Forming Technology.

Zhejiang Province serves as a leading hub for Chinas machinery manufacturing industry and hosts one of the country's most concentrated clusters of export processing enterprises. The region is characterized by its strong manufacturing base and distinctive export-driven economy. Under the national strategies of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiative, China is striving to transform itself from a "manufacturing giant" to a "manufacturing powerhouse" and from a "trading giant" to a "trading powerhouse." With the mutually reinforcing development of foreign investment utilization and outbound investment, this export-driven economic model presents an excellent opportunity for the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation discipline (with a minor in International Trade).

Program Objectives

This program is designed to cultivate highly skilled professionals with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation, as well as foundational knowledge in international economics, international trade, and related disciplines such as social sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering. Graduates will acquire the capabilities required for mechanical engineering design, manufacturing, management, and teamwork, along with the essential skills for international trade. They will develop a global perspective, be equipped for cross-cultural communication and collaboration, and possess strong innovation, humanistic values, professional ethics, and a sense of social responsibility. These professionals will be prepared for advanced, interdisciplinary roles in mechanical engineering fields, particularly in regional industries, including positions in design, manufacturing, research and development, international trade, and business management.

(1) Graduates will possess a solid foundation in humanities and social sciences, along with a deep commitment to professional ethics and social responsibility.

(2) Graduates will gain a thorough understanding of the technical and theoretical foundations of mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation. They will be skilled in applying this knowledge to solve complex engineering challenges. With solid hands-on experience in the field, they will be well-prepared to assume senior technical roles in design, manufacturing, research and development, and business management, especially within regional industries.

(3) Graduates will master the essential principles of international trade, stay current with developments in global economics and trade, and be familiar with widely adopted international trade regulations and practices. They will possess the foundational skills needed for advanced interdisciplinary talents to contribute effectively to international trade in mechanical engineering and related industries.

(4) Graduates will be able to assess and understand the social, legal, cultural, and environmental impacts of solutions to complex mechanical engineering problems. They will embrace the responsibility of contributing to the development of a sustainable society.

(5) Graduates will demonstrate strong teamwork and communication abilities, with an awareness of global perspectives and the capacity to engage in cross-cultural communication. They will also develop essential project management skills for better communication and collaboration.

(6) Graduates will demonstrate a strong commitment to lifelong learning, acquiring the latest developments in their field through research and self-directed study, both nationally and internationally. With an innovative mindset, they will adapt to technological advancements and transformations, continually enhancing their comprehensive abilities to meet the demands of an ever-evolving industry.
